Tour de France 2026: Mountains classification

Last year, the Slovenian won the polka dot jersey ahead of Jonas Vingegaard and Lenny Martinez, and this year, he continued in the same vein. Alex Molenaar currently holds the polka-dot jersey.

The distribution of points in the Tour is as follows:
HC-category: 20 – 15 – 12 – 10 – 8 – 6 – 4 – 2
1st-category: 10 – 8 – 6 – 4 – 2 – 1
2nd-category: 5 – 3 – 2 – 1
3rd-category: 2 – 1
4th-category: 1

Mountains classification stage 3

As early as stage 3, the riders tackle a category 1 climb. The first rider over the summit will earn 10 KOM points. The stage also features three Category 3 climbs, with a maximum of 2 points available on each.

Mountains classification stage 2

Alex Molenaar is first to the summit of the Côte de Begues and is in a strong position to claim the polka-dot jersey. Later on, the riders tackle the Montjuïc ascent three times. As the climb is part of the finishing circuit, it is unlikely that the same rider will collect the most points on each occasion.
